**Welcome. This site is getting a long-overdue overhaul. Some of the pages have disappeared with the installation of a new theme and are in the process of being restored or updated. Thanks for your patience. In the meantime you can reach me via admin at sueyeap.com.
I am a writer and journalist at The West Australian Newspaper.
For most of my career I have specialised in entertainment feature writing and criticism, interviewing actors, writers, musicians and producers about TV, movies and music.
For 20 months I was editor of The West’s food section Fresh, now called Food, and managed the associated Instagram account.
This personal site has links to some of the work I have done for The West and other publications but is mainly devoted to personal passions of food and travel.
Before returning to The West in May 2010, I spent several years freelancing. One of my freelance gigs was tracking the latest TV news, gossip, ratings and plots for Perth radio station 6PR Perth’s only 24 hour local radio station. I still occasionally pop up as a guest on 6PR talking about random topics, such as a punter being evicted from FringeWorld, and on the Spirit Network.
Those in the market for a home on Perth’s northern beaches may have seen my work in The West’s Real Estate section; and if music is more your thing, I also wrote for Perth’s monthly lifestyle magazine, Silver.
I also have experience on the other side of the media, writing press releases and pitching stories as a part-time media consultant for the Perth Royal Show in 2008 and 2009.
If you have found you way to this site via Google, I should point out I am not the Sue Yeap who has something to do with dog agility trials in Malaysia. I’m the one who has interviewed everyone from The Wiggles and Baby Spice to NCIS star Michael Weatherly and shock rocker Marilyn Manson.
